Meta Coyne was born year 1900. She had an MA in math. Her husband, Howard, worked at Bell labs and had various patents, some available online. He always scoffed at PhDs who used the term doctor. I had a desk in their basement and he lettered a sign saying "Damon's Workshop." Ms. Coyne had a special typewriter made with brown ribbon (her favorite color) and script type. I corresponded with her until her 90s.
